Friday 18 - Monday 21 SEPTEMBER 2009
On Friday 18 September, 8 of us set off for a long weekend in Torquay, staying in the Templestowe Hotel. We were blessed with excellent weather the whole weekend.
We arrived mid-afternoon and after settling into our respective rooms, we took the coach down into Torquay town centre for a stroll around the shops and a quick bite to eat.
Later we met up for dinner in the hotel and our first evening’s entertainment of bingo, followed by a singing duo.

The following morning, Jan and Janet took a swim in the outdoor swimming pool before joining us all for a hearty breakfast, after which we took the coach again to Newton Abbott and then in the afternoon on to Trago Mills.
Back at the hotel, it was time for a quick change and down to dinner and our second night’s entertainment of bingo, followed by a disco.

On Sunday, again after Jan and Janet went swimming and we all enjoyed a lovely breakfast, we went to Brixham. This had a lovely little harbour and we were able to walk around and enjoy the late summer sunshine and even indulge in an ice cream. Several Floosies later had tea and cakes and others shopped in the quaint little seaside shops. It was a lovely morning and we wished we had had longer there.
Back at the hotel, Jan went swimming again and others had a spot of lunch and read and relaxed poolside, again enjoying the warm sunshine. Lovely.
After dinner, we enjoyed our third night’s entertainment – bingo, followed by dancing and singing to the music of West End Shows with a comedian compere.

Monday morning, it was breakfast again, followed by our trip home. We all had a wonderful time, enjoying each other’s company and hopefully deepening friendships.
