because not everyone was there.

Would we go again?

YES - have already been asked to do another one!

Friday 7 AUGUST 2009

The two Branch Managers arrived early to put up gazebos in case it rained or in case we needed shading from the sun. This turned out to be the latter.

What a lovely afternoon it turned out to be! After days, if not weeks of rain, the day turned out to be really warm and very sunny. I say warm, not hot, because we had a lovely sea breeze to keep us from boiling.

We had each taken a picnic lunch with us and after a quick Branching Out we tucked into our food.

Branch Manager June had given us all a Floral Quiz to ponder on during our lunch, after which a game to get to know each other that little bit better. This was followed by a game of croquet in which there seemed to be a lot of cheating going on, a game of quoits, which everyone was useless at and a game of "garden Pick-up-Sticks", which many of us had played as children (many moons ago). Branch Manager Janet had produced the games but admitted to leaving the "Garden Jenga" at home as it was so heavy!

We finished up around 4.00 p.m. having been there for a good four hours but could have stayed there even longer had it been possible.

After all that worry of it going to rain we really were particularly blessed with the weather and had a really wonderful afternoon.
