MONDAY 21 DECEMBER 2009
On a freezing cold morning, and pouring with rain, Angie and Marie met up with Anne & Janet in Weston to pick up the minibus and collect the other 11 members at various pick up points, who were attending the Christmas Outing. Juniper June joined us and handed out Christmas song sheets in readiness for a sing song to help us along the way. Considering the awful weather, everyone joined the minibus in very good spirits ready for a good day out.
Although we met with heavy traffic and road works, we arrived at Bashley in good time and soon after we had all taken our seats, a lovely hot traditional roast turkey lunch was served. This was followed by warm apple pie and cream with tea and coffee to finish. The meal was enjoyed by everyone considering all the empty plates being collected afterwards.

There are only 6 people of The Olde Tyme Players from Bashley
- here are 3 of them.
We then settled down to the entertainment. Cedric the toymaker narrated and invited us to enjoy the fantastic festive fun and much loved Christmas songs. This was mingled with some really funny comedy from Laurel & Hardy, Steptoe & Son, Morecombe & Wise and Frank Spencer.
At the interval a cream tea and cakes, was served enjoyed by all even though we were all still full from lunch. We then enjoyed the second half of the entertainment, which left everyone well and truly in the Christmas Spirit.
At the end of the afternoon Janet drove us all safely home with the weather turning to snow showers which in the New Forest was rapidly laying on the road. Many thanks to Janet.
